I have graduated Cum Laude in April, 2009 from Western Michigan with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with an Option in Life Sciences and minors in math and chemistry. My academic curriculum has prepared me for a career in chemical engineering and the bioprocess field. During my academic career, I have worked on two different senior design projects using various computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AspenTech simulation program.
In addition to my academic work, I have worked with renewable energy at Michigan BioDiesel. During this internship, I worked on reducing waste streams and researching different feed stocks to help reduce costs. My internship also included designing and performing various lab experiments to test the viability of various feed stocks to produce biodiesel. I also assisted in the development and design of the production of a new product including testing procedures.
Lacks Enterprises provided me with valuable experience in manufacturing practices including quality control. While working in the quality assurance department, I learned the importance of record keeping for quality assurance purposes and to meet QS-9000 compliance. Also I learned the importance of root cause analysis in solving industrial problems. As a member of the quality assurance team at Lacks Enterprises, I have done process validations, audits, and assisted floor teams in resolving quality issues.
My professional background is one of increasing responsibility and achievement in a variety of critical positions as both an Individual Contributor and Key Team Member.
Recognized for communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills, I have excelled in positions requiring planning, exceptional client relationship management and the ability to serve as a technical advisor and subject matter expert resource to management. I have benefited numerous organizations with technical proficiency and discipline, a personal and professional dedication to excellence, and a willingness to go ‘above and beyond’ to insure success.
